HEICO-LOCK® lock washers consist of two identical washers with a wedge-shaped profile on the inside and radial teeth on the outside. When tightening the bolt, the radial serrations engage the contact surface of the bolt head and the substrate, holding the washers firmly in place. When the joint is subjected to vibration or dynamic loads, movement can occur only between the wedge surfaces of the washers. This movement leads to an increase in clamping force, automatically keeping the bolted joint secured even under extreme conditions.
