The Merwede Bridge, a double arch bridge on the A27 between South Holland and North Brabant, plays a crucial role in through traffic between these two regions.
The challenge
The emergency repairs to the Merwede Bridge required approximately 5,000 HV Injection Bolts. Archey played a key role by providing a detailed quotation to the construction combination VolkerRail & Mercon Steelstructures B.V. (ViVo) on the day of request. Once approved by the Department of Public Works, the HV Injection Bolts were delivered to the construction site within the specified time frame and assembled immediately, contributing to a quick and effective repair of the bridge

Impact
For the repair of the Merwede Bridge, Archey supplied HV injection garnishes. These trimmings consisted of a regular HV Prestressing Bolt with a 3.2mm hole fully drilled and 50% drilled up by 5.5mm, an HV injection Prestressing Nut, an HV Washer with a recessed chamber and an HV Washer with a vent groove. Our high-quality products meet the specific requirements for such demanding applications and contribute to the structural integrity of the bridge.
